Currently, in Afterlogic Webmail it's not possible to have a two-column view for reading mail without splitting the right column, because the message list is always visible. That is, right now you can read mail either as "vertical split" or "horizontal split", but either way, all three of the folder list, message list, and individual message viewer panes are always visible at all times.

In Gmail (for example) the default is a two column list, where the message list gets temporarily replaced with the message viewer when you click on a message.

I have users asking if there's an option for that kind of layout, because although you can see only the message list or an individual message at any given time, what you see is twice as large as it would otherwise be.

Before I try a patch myself, I though I'd ask if there any work being done on this by Afterlogic? (If I were doing it I'd make it be a third option in addition to "Vertical Split" and "Horizontal Split"; I wouldn't want it to replace either of those.)

Thanks!

Currently, there's no such viewing mode, all the 3 panes are always visible, and there are no plans to change that. Note that you can doubleclick message in the list to have it open in a separate tab/window.

Thanks for the reply; I appreciate it. I'll ponder creating a patch.
