Hi everyone!

I hope all is fine with you all! I'm contacting you in hopes that someone may provide some clarification on a function that I'm quite excited to utilize. Is it feasible to use AfterLogic WebMail Pro to set up several domains, specifically multiple SMTP/IMAP accounts from different providers such as Gmail, Hotmail, and personal domains?

A smooth, unified view that allows me to manage all of these accounts without having to switch between them is what I'm truly searching for. Since they're talking about distinct sub-domains, the documentation I saw (https://afterlogic.com/docs/webmail-pro-7/configuring-webmail/configuring-web-domain-names) seems to indicate that this might not be possible.

Additionally, if it's feasible, I'd love to put in place a folder system that uses filters to elegantly arrange emails by domain.

Hello,

While WebMail Pro is mainly designed to access mails on a mailserver you have a direct control of, it may also be possible to access accounts on free email services. In case of Gmail, you're going to need to setup Google application as they discontinued username/password authentication a while ago, see "Using OAuth2 Connector" section of How to connect to Gmail documentation page. At the moment, we don't know whether Hotmail actually allows for basic authentication - if yes, you should be able to add an account on that service, or any other email service for that matter, as long as you have IMAP and SMTP server connection details.

Switching between accounts is a perfectly standard approach in WebMail Pro - however, you can also utilize Unified Inbox approach, which effectively combines Inbox folders of several accounts in a unified view. Note that this only works for Inbox folders, so if you need to access other folders, switching to that specific account is the only option.

As for filters, this is where things get rather complicated. Simply put, filtering is something your mailserver has to support; usually it's done with the use of ManageSieve agent supported by WebMail Pro; an alternative solution is available if you host your email accounts by a cPanel server. In either scenario, WebMail Pro can only tell your server which rules should be used, while filtering itself is done by the server automatically, whether you're logged into WebMail at the moment or not.

Bear in mind that the product is available for a free full-featured 30-day trial download so you can try it out and see if it meets your requirements, prior to purchasing a license.

Hello, Igor. Regarding the Unified Inbox feature in WebMail Pro, is there any plan to extend the unified view to other folders beyond the Inbox? Additionally, for filtering with ManageSieve, could you provide more details on configuring it with a mailserver that doesn't natively support it, or recommend alternatives for such setups?

There are currently no such plans. This would most likely be a highly resource-consuming thing to do. Still, you can post a feature suggestion at https://afterlogic.uservoice.com/forums/932335-webmail-pro - we use this resource when developing the product's roadmap, and if a feature gets a substantial number of votes, that increases its chances of getting implemented.

Sieve support is generally a requirement for filters to work. The only alternative solution is available if your server runs cPanel:
