I just got the notice about the New mail objects updates. We are currently a user of Webmail Pro. Is it advisable to upgrade the mail objects on our webmail server or is this something totally different? Does our webmail server even use these objects?

Yes, it's recommended to update MailBee Objects with newer version since it's essential part of WebMail Pro. BTW, you can update just MailBee.dll without reinstalling the entire package. You can get the dll and the installation instructions here:
MailBee.zip.

Should everyone upgrade?
I have Webmail Pro and didn't get a notice about the new mail objects updates?
Is there a 'update' mailing list I should be on?

The MailBee Objects 5.4 newsletter was sent to only those who downloaded MailBee Objects.
However, you have pretty recent version of MailBee Objects so the upgrade is not required for you.
