Hi - I have just purchased the webmail pro.
It appears that users cannot change their email password via the "properties" page (new_account.asp?mode=edit)
I have tried to update the password a few times and continually get the following message after update:
"account test has been updated successfully"
However, once retrieval is attempted the following message is received:
"Wrong Email, Login and or Password.
Authentication Failed
Server responded: -ERR unable to log on."
Now, the password IS updated in the MySQL database:
mysql> select mail_password from wm_users where mail_login like "%test%";
+---------------+
mail_password
+---------------+
_____
+---------------+
1 row in set (0.13 sec)
mysql> select mail_password from wm_users where mail_login like "%test%";
+---------------+
mail_password
+---------------+
KRRXLQY
+---------------+
1 row in set (0.13 sec)
but authentication still fails.

I forgot to mention - other items (e.g. server, username, email address) DO update successfully, just not the password, apparently.

Have you changed email account password on the mail server as well?
Change password in WebMail Pro is intended for situation when email account password was changed on the mail server and this change needs to be reflected in WebMail Pro database.

Alex

Yes, the password on the mail server has been changed, hence the need to let people back into their email accounts...
currently they cannot log into their webmail unless they change back to their original email password on the mail server.

Unfortunately, we could not reproduce the problem with our own WebMail Pro on MySql installation.
Could you please provide us with a test account on your WebMail Pro installation including corresponding POP3 account so we would be able to try to access this account through POP3 first and then through WebMail Pro?
You can send this info to support@afterlogic.com
Regards,
Alex

Very strange - I changed the popbox password so that I could send it to you, updated the password in webmail again and it worked.
Before I could access using pop but not in webmail.
I will try to find the sequence of events that led to this to find out if there is a bug.
