Hello!

I've recently set up AfterLogic WebMail Lite .PHP, and I am most satisfied with what I'm getting, except for one tiny detail. I am using the Danish translation, and have set the default charset to Western European (8859-2). The special characters from Danish language (æ, ø, å) show up as rectangles with a question mark. I tried going to the Danish language file and replacing all the special letters with & aelig; , & oslash; and & aring; respectively, but with no change on the outcome.

Have I done anything wrong here, or have I simply forgotten something? This is the only thing I need to take care of before I can let my users log in to the webmail.

To me, it sounds like a possible issue with iconv or something like that. Maybe you should try switching to UTF-8 and see if it helps.

I've tried both ISO-8859-1 and UTF-8. As it is now, everything is set to UTF-8 as my research has lead me to believe that UTF-8 can display almost all symbols.

What is iconv, though?

That's a library which is responsible for conversion from one character set to another. It's used as
PHP extension and can be glitchy sometimes.
