1)
May I suggest that you add a little more
information in the changelog. What I'm in
particular interested in is that you somewhere
write (doesn't necessarily need to be in the
changelog file) which files there are
changed/updated since last version..
This would make it one hundred times easier
and faster to upgrade to the newest version,
especially if you have your own modified
version of the webmail running..
You have the information anyway, why not let
your customers use it?
2)
Another thing, I believe I have asked about
this before, but would it be an idea to have
two version numbers, one for each language
(PHP/.Net), on your webmail page;

Again, this would make the webmail-life much
easier.. And you already have this
information, feed us!

With regard to the 1st point, we don't really collect such kind of information. I agree with you that it would help towards upgrading a customized version, but only if it's about upgrading from exactly the previous build.
Here's what I mean. Let's assume you have 4.8.2 version running and would like to upgrade to the latest which is, say, 4.8.8. Let's assume it contains a changelog, but it will only hold changes compared 4.8.7 which is apparently of no use for you. In such situation, you would have to check six logs to find out what was changed.
If there's a real need to compare files between versions, I would suggest searching for a tool which can show differences between files in two different directories.
As to the version numbers shown, it's not an automated process, our web team updates this information manually, and since maintenance builds are released several times a day sometimes, it's not easy to follow this process. Currently, only one approximate number is shown, maybe this will change in the future.
To my personal opinion, it's not really necessary to follow each and every maintenance build, so the small difference in version number shouldn't really matter. But if you have, say, 4.5 and would like to upgrade to 4.9 - that's another story, and the given information is absolutely sufficient.

Marci,
you may want to check the program called "diff". If you are using Linux it's already included in your O/S. But I believe you can find many programs on Windows that have a graphical interface to this command.
You can have 2 directories, one named Webmail-ORIGINAL-version-1.2.3.4 and another called CURRENT-MODIFIED.
When a new version comes out, you place it on a third directory and can diff it to the above mentioned directories. This way you will see what files have changed, what lines etc, side by side usually.
Perhaps this may be helpful in your case.
