Since the Calendar makes use of a several tables within a MySQL databaseI wanted to know if there are any limitations on the number of events or repeating events that can be entered as a result of MySQl limitations.

Since MySQL can store millions of records, and repeated event is stored as a single record (even though it is displayed more than once), you're highly unlikely to hit a limitation of such kind. Repeating events in WebMail Pro is quite a new feature, so there's a chance it contains some bugs. Any reported bugs are eliminated as soon as possible.

Both msSQL and MySQL are some very strong databases. Even if webmail pro should have some kind of bug, and add the records more than once, unless you have many, many users, you will never even notice.
I will (kinda) promises you, that you will never reach the limit of the database
