Hi,
I've just purchased WebMail. First of all I want to thank you for your great software. It's wonderful. Next I have some suggestions:
1. I think it's very helpful if you place "Move to Folder" option in view.asp. It will help users to manage their Emails easily.
2. Set an ability for users (or administrator) to choose one of these options:
- Show Email count in front of each folder
- Show Unread messages count in front of each folder
3. Place an Spell Check for composing emails
Thank you again for WebMail
Regards

Do have any idea when the next version will be released? Also, do you have a list of features of the next version? I have been compiling a "wish list" of features I would like to see but wouldn't want to post them if you are already dealing with them....

WebMail Pro v3.3 will be released in a month or so. New features are:
- IMAP4 Direct Mode (in this mode, neither entire messages nor envelopes are stored in database, the messages are always downloaded from the IMAP server. Database is only used for account and Address Book/Calendar information)
- IMAP4 Nested Folders
- New message count in folder display (for each folder, number of new messages is displayed on the right of the folder name in the folders list)
- POP3 direct mode (direct access to mailbox, no database is used)
- Calendar module
Regards,
Alex

I'm using pop3 so the message count will be really helpful :-)
From using the current pro version for a week or two now I have the following "wishes" :
(1) - I have 14 email addresses in the "My Accounts" dropdown - It would be nice if I could display them by friendly name or email address and be able to sort them (either alphabetically or in the order I choose)
(2) - An option to get mail for all accounts which would result in a summary screen showing which accounts have new mail
(3) - I login as my own email address and can see all the other 13 email addresses. I would like it if you logged in as another email address you only got to see that email account (or as many as needed). That way I can see my staff's email but they can't see mine.
(4) - Some kind of indication showing if I have replied or forwarded an email.
(5) - Verdana font in the "new mail" feature. You did show me how to add it but it defaults to Ariel (even though it says Verdana in the dropdown) and I have to select all, select courier and then select verdana to get it to change to verdana.
WebMail is a great app and is by far the best i've used so far. I look forward to future releases and seeing this project grow and grow.

...and just one more:
I would really like to see a "show when read" option like in Outlook as some of my emails are time sensative and I need to know when my clients have read them.
(I use Webmail as my "on the road" email system).
Thanks,
Mark

Thanks for the suggestion. However, this is a rather complex feature (internally) and it's more likely to be implemented in ASP.NET version of WebMail (which will be released next year).

Alex

Hello,
In the thread above I posted this as one of my "wishes" :
(3) - I login as my own email address and can see all the other 13 email addresses. I would like it if you logged in as another email address you only got to see that email account (or as many as needed). That way I can see my staff's email but they can't see mine.
This has now become a "must have" as I want to allow my staff access to their email while they are not in the office. It seems that whoever you login as you always see all email accounts listed in the "my accounts" dropdown. Is there a way to allow my staff to be able to login and only see their own email, but for me to login and see all email addresses?
I hope you can help
Regards,
Mark

Ok, this can be done. We'll send you the fix for this in the beginning of the next week (most likely, Tuesday).

Alex

Thank you Alex.
I have noticed you have helped a few other people in the forum and i've thought "i'd like that fix" - will any of the 'little' fixes you have been doing be available in the new version of Webmail? If not, am I right in asuuming that I will have to re-apply whatever fix you send me after I upgrade? (I am a new registered user so have not performed one of your upgrades yet).
Keep up the good work!!
Mark

There are 2 kinds of fixes:
1. Bug fixes. They are always included in future versions and maintenance releases.
2. Custom features. The fix you requested two topics above is such a feature. Since they affect WebMail's behaviour, we decide whether to include them in future versions depending on a number of factors.

Alex
