I cannot change the admin password using the webinterface (clicking on the admintab in adminpanel does change existing window)

I managed to change it in the data/settings dir, but that doesn't seem to be the right way?

When Using mail in the directmode I can not sort the columns in the Inbox; is that correct?

Thx

First of all, make sure you're using the latest version. XMail Pro v3.1 and WebMail Pro v4.4 (released 31 Dec) fix the issue with saving admin passwords.

If you're on the latest version, are you sure web user has permissions to write into the settings file? Or, the admin password is the only thing which cannot be modified?

Yes, that's correct. Direct mode means "always work directly with the mail server". POP3 protocol does not support sorting. Some IMAP implementations support sorting but too few to the current moment and they are not well-compatible with each other. We recommend using "Headers-only" mode which enables most of the features except full-text search over message bodies.

Alex

The adminpwd seems the only thing that can not be modified - I have followed the permission settings instructions of the documentation.

I'm running 4.3 (where can I find the versionnr?). I've downloaded version 4.4, but cannot find upgrade instructions?

Thanks for the "headers only" advice, it seems to work quite nice.

Thx again

The developers will check admin password change feature again.

Version and build number will be added in the next maintenance release.

Upgrade from v4.3 to v4.4 is simple - update all the files in the web folder with the downloaded ones, except inc_settings_path.php (or web.config for ASP.NET version).

Alex

I did replace the webfolder (except inc_settings_path.php) and set the file properties as described in the documentation, but still the same issue.

By the way: I renamed the skins/Dark Green folders into skins/Dark_Green, so I don't get any erormessages anymore while running the chmod command.

Thx.
