When using mailbee with IMAP I find that synchronization does not
work well for me.

In mailbee i have a folder with +/- 2300 messages saved in the
database. I know that those are not present in the maildir on the
imap server, but that there are 2000 (newer) messages. After
synchronising I should either see the 2000 new messages, or the old
2300 messages + 2000 new, so 4300 messages. But instead I keep on
seeing 2300 messages.

Later I decided to empty that folder and now mailbee does see the
messages as deleted. How do I clean them up in mailbee? I cannot find
a function for this. I could use a script on the database of course,
but that is not really practical.

This leaves me with one more question. When mailbee is not the only
program used to access an IMAP mailbox, is it than better to not use
database storage but direct storage?

To provide you with help in this regard, we need to know more details:
1. What synchronization type is set for this folder?
2. Can you actually read those messages in WebMail, or you can only see their headers?
3. How exactly did you find out that there are 2000 messages? Did you use another email application, telnet or something else?
4. Please also let us know the exact name and version of mail server you use.

Did you try to use Purge tool (it is located in WebMail Pro toolbar when IMAP access is used)? Didn't it help?

From the collision related point of view, it makes no difference.

I did not find this option. I will update
today to the new version and see if it is
included in that one.

Kind regards,

1. All headers
2. I did not try. I now do remember they were
striped throught, so probably a clean-up would
have helped. But I do not clearly remember.
3. I have access to the mailserver and also
another webmail client.
4. postfix-2.2.11,1 with dovecot-1.1.3_1.

I will test some more and come back to you
with more info. But first I will update
mailbee today.

Last reply for now. I do see that mailbee
noticed that the messages in question are
already deleted from mailserver.

It is a bit confusing to see them included in
the amount of unread messages next to to
folder name, since only the header was saved.

Not the last message it seems. Messages that
are still on the mailserver now also get the
message that they do not exist on the server
anymore, even though they are not striped
through in the list. It gets confusing.

I am going to clean up the mess and start from
scratch.

We don't think that update may change anything in this regard as Purge feature is available since a long time ago. To access it, click the arrow right next to Delete button. Dropdown will be opened, choose "Purge deleted" option from it.

Igor

Even after these instructions it did take me
long to find that purge option. Could you
maybe also put it in the settings menu or so?
In general the double >> pointing down does
not really catch the eye in mailbee.
Now with knowing where to find it I will play
some more. I think this will do the trick for
me.

Yes, we'll consider that. Thank you.
