Hello,

I have the problem, that Messages which are deleted in the WebMail are not deleted on the Mailserver. Is there a setting I missed?

(WebMail Pro 4.2)

Greetings,
Markus

The behavior of Delete feature depends on your email account type.

In case if it's POP3 account, you should check "Delete message from server when it is removed from Trash" checkbox in Settings > Email Accounts.

If IMAP is used, the messages are just marked as deleted until you choose "Purge deleted" option from the dropdown at Delete button.

Regards,
Igor.

Thanks Igor for the quick answer!

I have a POP3 Mail Account. I can not find this setting. Is it in the Admin Area or in the user Area?

Greetings,
Markus

You can find this checkbox under "Leave messages on server" radio button (the button should be ON for this to work). It can be changed in both user area (Settings) and admin area (Users Management > Edit).

However, there is an option in admin area called "Allow user to change email settings". This option can be set either globally (WebMail Settings, for new users only) or individually (Users Management > Edit). If the option is turned off, users would not be able to change email settings. Perhaps that's why you're unable to find the setting we're speaking of.

Thanks a lot! That solved the problem!

The "Allow user to change email settings" was off for my user.

Nice greetings from Germany,
Markus
