First, I wanted to thank the team that put together WebMail Lite. I've only been using it for a few hours and I really like it.
Minor issue/question ... I have my WebMail Lite instance running behind an nginx reverse proxy, accessing with Google Chrome. I access it via webmail.mydomain.com, and that works.
I log in and all looks good - folders/messages/viewer panes look great. At this point my URL shows good and the little certificate padlock shows that the connection is secure. When I click a message to view it, the padlock disappears and it shows "connection is not secure" if I hover over the URL warning. The site still functions ... I can send, receive, view, delete, etc.
I'm just not clear on why I lose the 'secure' status once I click a message, so I'm really hoping somebody else has experienced this and can offer a few clues.
Thanks again - I am enjoying this app.

I think the question here is: does this happen to any message, even if it's, for example, a plain-text message with no images at all? My guess is, this could be caused by loading external images over http rather than https.
