Hi to all. First of all sorry for my english!
I use WebMail Lite in conjunction with Outlook Express or Thunderbird.
The problem is that if I use first the Webmail to check the mails the messages remains in the main folder though I have downloaded them with the mail client..
Why WM Lite doesn't syncronize with the server every time that I logon?
In this way I have message duplicates and I have to check and delete manually every single message... or can I set something? Thanks for all.

Are you using IMAP or POP3 access with WebMail Lite? The complete sync can only be ensured in case of IMAP. With POP3, the behavior depends on how your account is configured. BTW, due to the complexity of POP3 use we're removing its support in v7 of PHP edition.

Hi, thanks for your reply.
Yes I'm using POP3 that is the only protocol permitted by our provider.
In effect I don't understand why WM Lite download in local the mails and remain
there.. From my opinion is not necessary and it could do a simple LIST for delete
the mails that aren't anymore on the server.. In past I had a simple Webmail that did exactly this.

Here in Italy IMAP is a protocol that isn't very used.. We use primary POP3.

Thanks.

The problem with POP3 is that it requires a local storage indeed, otherwise you couldn't have other folders than Inbox, you couldn't have read/unread message status as well as other things POP3 doesn't support.

And in general case, it's not really obvious that mails should be removed locally if they are not on server anymore. GMail POP3, for instance, removes mails from POP3 box once you downloaded them - and that could cause a huge pain with Inbox becoming empty on each next login.

Still, I'm pretty sure that WebMail account settings have an option to delete mails from webmail account if they were removed from mail server. Make sure that option is in place in your account settings, and if yes, you need to have it enabled.
