          Hey everybody,

I just set up 'AfterLogic Light', but I'm not sure what that database connection is used for...

I'd like to use the client in an existint postfix/dovecot-environment and already have an LDAP directory for authentication a.s.o.

Do I really need the SQL-Database-Connection? What is it used for by that web-client? Can I still use my LDAP for authentication?

 Thanks in advance.

When user navigates to WebMail and enters their login and password, authentication is performed againts IMAP/POP3 server, and even though encrypted password is stored in the database, it doesn't affect authentication itself.

Users, however, are able to configure their accounts, supply various look-and-feel settings (language, skin, number of messages per page, etc.) - and along with lists of domains and users, that information is stored in the database.
