hi cn anyone plz help me m unable to connect mysql daatbase wen installing afterlogic lite (asp.net)i tried odbc connection string etc everything but no luck
everytime it shows error connect unsuccessful

Be sure to install ODBC connector, using version 3.* is recommended.

hi thnks for reply, i already have that ODBC connector ,but no luck also have net connector 6.2.4 but nothing helped me.

is there any other way to connect to database without this string i tried with my login name and password but same error msg m getting
i can add database from websitepanel and can see it in phpmyadmin even hmail is also connected but only this one causing problem plz help

As long as you are certain you provide correct database details and the connector is installed, I have no idea as to what's wrong. You might need to check special debug logs, see the documentation page.

my server is just a test server . hmail is working fine still m unable to connect to mysql database i cant even understand what is the problem as sql server itself working gud can u plz tell me is it possible like i can login without a connection string i mean jus with login name n password n host information n, i will try wat u suggested me n get back to with outcome
can i try with outlook????

Sorry if you having trouble understanding my English but thanks for responding freind
anyway i got connection to mysql database -i create database manually in phpmyadmin and user for it lets say webmail and gave all privileges to it and tried with this user name from afterlogic installer to connect and got connect successful.so may be its a issue of user privileges.but next i again stuck on email server testing step i am getting this error message please see if you can help me-


SMTP connection to port 25 failed: The type initializer for 'System.Net.ComNetOS' threw an exception..
POP3 connection to port 110 failed: The type initializer for 'System.Net.ComNetOS' threw an exception..

please help i googled alot but could not find any solution

i sorted this and installation is completed it was because of firewall rule i created a new rule in firewall for hmailserver and i got it working.

can you please tell me how to login as a user in this rather than admin account should i login with users created in hmail beacause i added domain manually in afterlogic and there is no users i can't see any option to create users so please tell me which credentials should i use

i tried to login by mail accounts i have created in hmail but can not login and it say internal server error.i checked hmail logs and i found this,please have a look and suggest me any solution.

Adding users in AdminPanel is a Pro feature. With Lite, you just configure default domain to supply incoming/outgoing mail settings.

Based on the log file, I assume you attempt to use actual domain name, do you have its DNS records configured in full? In particular, MX record should point to mail server installation location. In many cases, records A and PTR point there as well.

By the way, are you able to use any other email client installed on the same machine to access hMailServer accounts?

yes i got DNS records in full i mean mx and A records and a pointer everything.I have not tried with any other webmail client.I will try and let you know about the results., in Admin panel i can add domains but can not configure them as I am not getting any other option when i select Domain to configure it there is no option What i should do, please reply.

my mail server is on localhost and yes m using actual domain with no exixting website? can i try with a test domain i mean just like kimmi.local something

Yes, you should be able to do that, but the domain should be resolved to local IP, 127.0.0.1 in most cases. The simplest way to achieve that is to modify hosts file. Its exact location depends on operating system used. In Windows XP, for example, that is c:/WINDOWS/system32/drivers/etc/hosts file.

By the way, there's one known connectivity issue which occurs for hMailServer sometimes. Solution is to use 127.0.0.1 instead of localhost as incoming/outgoing mail host for default domain.

I tried with windows live mail and i got it working i am able to send and recieve emails so it means hmail server is ok so what i can try in afterlogic webmail to make it work. second question is - i sent one test email to my boss lets say info@xxxxxx.co.nz and he got it when i sent other email at support@xxxxxx.co.nz it gives following error messege so what may be the reason:

Error Type: SMTP
   Remote server (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) issued an error.
   hMailServer sent: .
   Remote server replied: 554 sorry, Spam detected by SpamAssassin (#5.3.4)

Make sure you supply correct connection details in AdminPanel.

Doesn't look like WebMail-related question, check if the same occurs with any other email client used in same scenario.

Thanks for your kind support, you will be glad to know that i can successfully login with user credentials now.What i did is i performed a clean installation again and before that i deleted everything of previous one. i Just got everything working in less than 30 minutes. thnaks for support.

and when i tried to attach a file to send with an e mail i got error message that An unknown error occured while upload file
