Even when the "Allow direct mode" option on the Common Settings page is unchecked, new accounts are still created with the sync_type = 5 (direct mode). Is there any way to correct this behavior?

Are you speaking of PHP or .NET edition of WebMail Lite? And, do you use POP3 or IMAP?
