Hi,
We have a strange problem related to POP3 retrieval at one of our customer sites. We are trying to get emails through a Domino POP3 server. Almost all the emails are fetched, except for a couple of emails a day.
I understand it might not be a issue with MailBee.Net, but could you provide me some pointers to what might the situations when this might occur and also possible solutions.
Thanks and regards,
Saurabh

Is another mail client like MS Outlook able to receive all messages from the same account?
To investigate the issue, please enable logging POP3 session into a file, reproduce the issue and provide us with the log file for examination. You can enable logging as shown in this sample.
Best regards,
Andrew

Hi Andrew,
This is on the client machine so we do not have direct access to the system to enable login. We had seen it in our server, where the server was returning number of messages as 0.
I was just wondering if setting the email to read is the only reason for this to happen or if there are any other reasons for the same. I will try to get you a log for the same, but that might take some time.
This is on a Lotus Domino server so no outlook but we have Lotus Notes client which is able to get the messages. The customer reports that setting the email as unread does not get it picked, so there should be some other reason why the POP3 server is not able to pick the emails.
Thanks and regards,
Saurabh

If so, it's indeed the issue of Lotus mail server. We found another similar issue on our forum, but unfortunately, we don't know if it was resolved.

Originally, POP3 protocol doesn't support storing read/unread statuses, if this is supported in Lotus mail server, it's a non-standard extension of POP3 protocol and we don't have detailed info regarding its behavior.

If Lotus Domino server supports standard POP3 protocol (it does because if it didn't, you would be not able to retrieve messages through MailBee.NET POP3 component), you may easily connect through MS Outlook (or MS Outlook Express) or another mail client software which supports POP3 protocol.
Best regards,
Andrew
