What is the maximum number of emails in a folder that Webmail Pro can work with?

WebMail Pro doesn't have any problems with large amount of mails in one folder, as they're only loaded on per-page basis. There are, however, known issues with large number of folders, and we keep optimizing there.

What could be a reason then for a slow loading time on a folder with 131,000 emails in it?

We have a couple of suggestions in that regard.
1) Turn off threading.
In case if message threading is enabled, WebMail requests the entire mailbox for the list of threads which might really slow things down. You can disable threading in user account settings or altogether for the entire domain in AdminPanel.
2) Disable prefetching.
WebMail makes it possible to have message opened immediately after selecting it in message list. To achieve that, mails are downloaded in background and you might need to turn that off in case of performance issues. For that, add the following item to array defined in data/settings/config.php file:
Code:
'webmail.use-prefetch' => false, |

Also you might want to check the log files of WebMail, make sure that log verbosity is set to Debug, it can help with understanding of what is causing the problem.
