I had one worry about identities, its a cool feature, but what if a company doesnt want to offer that to their employees, as they can use badly... (send email as the boss, for example)? Is there a way to restrict it?
I like the way Gmail does it, when you want to use a certain FROM/identity, it sends an email to respective account owner with a link to authorize.
Thanks.

Actually, allowing or restricting use of identities is up to mail server. Many servers would simply ignore overriding custom "From" information and would enforce the original sender information. And if you'd like to disable identities, that's done by setting AllowIdentities to Off in data/settings/settings.xml file.

Hi, Igor
I see, but pls understand, its a neat and important feature, we do want it available. I just think some customers might find it intrusive and dangerous, after all an employee can send mail as boss :)
I like what GMail does, it offers it in a safe way. You have to request to be able to use identity and a request goes to the owner account. can you consider something like this in the future?
Or a way to disable per domain? This way, a customer doesnt want it, we can disable it just for them.
Thanks.

Did you get my reply? The way you say to disable is per domain or server wide?
