Hi all,
Why it is always like this?
Upgrading to version x.x from any previous versions is not recommended, you are doing it at your own risk!
Upgrade will effectively result in losing any calendar entries, those cannot be moved to x.x version.
Every new version (new install) our email users going mad because of losing there contact list

Well it's not really always like that. IIRC, it's only the 2nd time it happened, and the 1st one was when 5.0 was released. Version 6.4, however, brings in a new backend for storing calendar data. We're planning to release a migration tool for importing calendar data from older versions. For now, it's about setting calendars from scratch. However, I'm not sure what contacts have to do with it - they're not affected with the upgrade.
And certainly, if you are happy with your current product installation, upgrading is optional, you don't have to do it.

If you do new install (as recommended) it will be lost!
*I did try to upgrade from v4.x to v6.x and the webmail became very slow
I really need a way to use the latest version of WebMail Pro (PHP) without losing any of the (contacts lists) from previous versions.
Thanks.

Looks like there's no easy answer to this one. However, in next version 6.5, we're adding CardDAV support so all the contacts are associated with just the email accounts and thus it will be possible to upgrade WebMail Pro independently from DAV server.

Most probably, it will be released early this summer.
In next few days, we're releasing another 6.4.* build with improved calendar functionality, it will not require reconfiguring web server as calendar info will be accessed via API directly. The same will apply to CardDAV support once it's available.
