Hey All! I'm receiving an error whenever I attempt to reply to an email. It doesn't matter if the reply is to an internal or external recipient, it always errors. New emails are sent successfully, and when using an email client, replies are successful, so it's only in the webmail client, and only when replying (current workaround is to forward the mail instead of replying, which works). I've also noticed that the original email doesn't appear in the reply email like you'd expect it to. The worst part of this whole situation, is that not more than a year ago I spent 3 days troubleshooting and fixing this same error, but failed to document the fix. Here's my setup:
Type: IMAP
Authentication: Plain
Outgoing authentication: Same as incoming
Error on webmail site: "Internal Server Error. Please, contact your system administrator in order to report the problem."

According to your message, you encounter issues when sending mail, but the log file reflects the error when receiving mails, can you please clarify this?
Just in case, can you confirm you are using the latest 6.2 version of WebMail Pro? You can find out the version number as shown here.

That's correct, the issues is encountered when replying to a received message. The log was cleared just before clicking send, and was exported just after the internal server error message appears.
I am utilizing version 6.0.
Thanks for your reply, looking forward to a solution!

Still, the log file only covers receiving mails, so it might be necessary to enable special debug log as per this documentation page. Also, check if the issue persists with 6.2 version. And if you'd like our support staff to assist you on this, it might be a good idea to use our HelpDesk.

I switched over to Webmail Lite, version 5.1.3, and the issue no longer occurs. I'm planning on putting up a test site with the old files so I can further troubleshoot the issue.
Does the software automatically check for new email when sending mail?

Ok, I've done some more testing, and the log that I posted above is the exact sequence of events every time I attempt to reply to an email, so unless the server is attempting to check for new messages when I send a message, that's definitely what it's attempting to do when I reply to a message.
As for upgrading to 6.2, I'm not sure that I'm able to do so. I acquired the software some time ago, when the .org site offered Pro for up to 5 users free of charge, and they don't seem to be doing that any more.
Here's more information from the special debug log you indicated above. I've ran the SQL statement shown below, and the statement is valid:
[8/3/2011 4:53:52 PM][CreateParameter] - @id_domain='1'
[8/3/2011 4:53:52 PM][PrepareCommand] - SELECT * FROM awm_domains WHERE id_domain = @id_domain

I think I have an idea what might cause this. Upon sending mail out, WebMail places copy of the message to Sent Items folder, and this is done via IMAP.
IMAP-related functionality is being optimized significantly between 6.* versions so there's a great chance the issue no longer persists with the latest one.

License key issued in terms of 5 Users license should work with current version of WebMail Pro. And upgrading is not required actually, you can have new installation deployed next to existing one, that should be handy for checking if they show the same behavior.

That's excellent, I will give that a try today and will post the results later. Thanks!

Looking forward to it. And in case if the issue is replicated with 6.2 we'd like to investigate it, and we'll need IMAP account access details for that. You can send those securely via our HelpDesk - unless the account is hosted by a web service we could sign up to ourselves of course.
