Hello dear webmailers ,
I`m just testing webmail pro, seems to be a great software ...
But I have a problem with importing my adressbook from Outlook_Express into Webmail Pro. I understood that I have to export first from Outlook into a csv-file. Because my Outlook_Express is german I have to translate the headline into the english keywords, like described in the wicki. This does not work!
I have created a short test file with this content:
firstname,lastname,email
Robert,Bosch,robert@bosch.de
I expected, that the import function under "kontakte" can handle this file. But this doesn`t work, I get only one empty entry in the contact list.
Can I get some help, please ?
friendly regards

Can you please confirm whether you use PHP or ASP.NET version of WebMail Pro?
Thank you!

Thanks for the confirmation. Recently, there was a couple of fixes added towards CSV importing issues, please download this archive and extract a file from it to libraries/afterlogic/common/managers/contacts/helpers/csv/parser.php location.
Please let us know if the update helps.

Hello Igor,
finally, using the content of parser.php, I was able to modify the headline in the csv-file in such a way that it was imported from WebmailPro. But there was one problem. After import I had the feeling that only 80% of my adresses were imported. Names which contains characters like
are ignored. Ok, with search/replace I changed every ö into oe but his looks not nice in a german adress list We have a lot of "Müllers" in Germany
Thank you for the help !

Can you please confirm the file was UTF-8 encoded? If so, we'd like to investigate this, you can send us the file securely via HelpDesk.
If the file was in some other encoding, like Windows-1252, it might be a good idea to convert it to UTF-8 first.

Hello Igor,
I created an utf8-file with the following content:
Fullname;E-mail
Zueller, Egon;zueller@aol.com
this is imported correctly. Then I changed one character:
Fullname;E-mail
Züller, Egon;zueller@aol.com
this is not imported !

Weird, I wasn't able to replicate the problem:
Prior to saving the file, I have rechecked that the file is UTF8-encoded and that it doesn't contain Byte Order Mark, that might be substantial for this.

Thank you again, Igor, now it works !
My windows notepad writes a bom at the top of every utf8 file. I deleted the first 3 characters with my hex-Editor and now I can import the adresses completely
