Hello,

I recently upgraded to the latest version of webmail. There used to be a "filters"
tab in the account page for every email account, including the default. Now the
extra email addresses have it but not the default. Is there a way to do this? I
need to for sorting my emails into folders... Maybe there is a better way to do
it?

Thanks!

In WebMail Pro 6, filters are available for POP3 accounts only. Make sure you're not using IMAP.

You are right, I have IMAP. The only reason I prefer it is because I want to keep
my folders synchronized with the mail server... Thanks for your reply though!

Never used POP3 with webmail.
With POP3, does Webmail Pro leave all the messages in the file system for later retrieval by an email client?
Can you create additional folders in the database?
Can you store the sent messages in a database folder?

If you use PO3, by default WebMail Pro 6 downloads all the mails to the filesystem
and does not delete them from server.

Sure.

Yes, that's how it always works for POP3.

Does that mean that if there are 5000 emails in the mailbox (on the mail server), WMPro downloads all those emails separately to the filesystem? Does it not read the emails directly from the mailbox?

Sorry Igor, which one is correct? WMPro duplicating the emails or reading directly from the mail server?

If the former, are the duplicated emails kept on the filesystem or are they deleted after logging out of webmail?

I apologize if my response wasn't clear enough. If POP3 is used, WebMail Pro would download all the mails from
mail server, so that full sync of mails is performed. Mails will not be deleted when you log out of WebMail Pro.

Isn't this then a step backwards? Prior versions had filtering/sort even in IMAP. Now when you access Gmail IMAP folders there is no way to sort them!

In previous versions of WebMail Pro, filters were only available if you use database sync. Current
version works with mail server directly, thus existing functionality can no longer be used. Of course, we
understand the importance of filtering, and we consider adding this for future versions of the product.
