          Webmail could need a function so that one can specify in which folder a particular email should end up in (a roul function so to speak).

 |  particular user account, or IMAP folder? If that's the former, WebMail Pro, starting from 6.0 release,
 utilizes direct mode for IMAP accounts so that messages are not stored in filesystem or database.

          Well, the former is on filesystem, while IMAP folder is something like Inbox, Sent Items, Trash etc.
