Hello all,
I'm here inquiring about a question with importing email from a current provider to an on-site email server using AfterLogic's XMailServer. Or maybe the webmail pro front-end.
Currently I have hosted email through Everyone.Net and after MUCH wrangling with them I finally convinced them to allow me to have access to all the users data. However this is limited to IMAP data pull/sync only. The refuse to export data in any form... ONLY willing to sell me a list of user names/passwords for $50.
Long story short, it appears I'm going to have to use a script I found online called IMAPSync to pull the data, accounts, attachments, folders, etc from the current Everyone.net account.
My question is, is there any direct way for XMail Server to import this? Or is it possible for me to transfer such account data, use Webmail Pro front end for the data and then upgrade to XMail server?
Thoughts? Suggestions? Options??
Bradley

We suggest to use any third-party IMAP migration tool which fetches mail from one IMAP account and uploads it to another one. For instance, you can use the script shipped with Cyrus IMAP server.

Thanks for that information. Does that mean by fetching the accounts from IMAP server to another I would only be limited to using the WebMail Pro interface or is it possible at a later date to migrate the data into XMail Server?

I was speaking of moving mails from any IMAP server to XMail Server Pro. It's not possible to import mails into standalone WebMail Pro as it's used to access existing POP3/IMAP accounts.

Thanks for that information. Is there a tutorial or documentation on this? I would like to try this with the demo of the XMail Server on a test server.

Sorry, no idea. You'll need to check that for a particular IMAP migration tool you're going to use. There's no such tool shipped with XMail Server Pro.
