We seem to have accumulated over 5gb of temp files (temp/a, temp/b, temp/c, etc.) which appear to be attachments from emails.

Is it safe to purge this folder? Will the attachments still be available from the source message in the database? (We are using the database storage method)

Thanks
Rob

Yes, you're right, you can purge the folder contents, any attachments you request will be obtained from messages themselves stored in WebMail Pro database.

Is there a better way to manage this? This directory constantly fills up. Aside from running a cron job is there any option available to leave file attachments on the mail server and download them direct to the user's PC?

In addition that question, on more a development level... where exactly are the attachments for messages stored? I am using the MSSQL. I don't see the reference to attachements any where in the database, other than that in the table awm_messages it has indicator of how many attachments are there.

Attachments are NOT stored separately. Mails are downloaded as EML files and saved to Mail subfolder of the data folder, and attachments are parsed out of EML content.
