Hello,

We have the settings.xml setting as follows:

<AllowUsersChangeCharset>0</AllowUsersChangeCharset >

however, on various screens while reading an email a select option dropdown appears for changing the charset. We need this option to not appear no matter what, and anticipated the settings.xml parameter would restrict this.

Please let me know if this is happening by design, or a bug that could be resolved.

Rob

AllowUsersChangeCharset affects changing "Settings / Common / Default charset" which is default charset for outgoing messages.

The charset dropdown on view message screen appears only if no charset is explicitly specified in message headers. If a message doesn't contain a charset definition, WebMail Pro tries to detect the charset automatically, but there is 100% reliable way to do it. So, that dropdown allows users to correct wrong charset detection and read such a malformed message.

If you don't like that feature, we're able to provide you with instructions on how to hide it, just let us know.

Best regards,
Andrew
