Hi all,
I installed the lite versione for testing purpose using as mail server HMAIL.
After some trouble with the MySql solved using the DSN string, I made everithign working, but I found some issues that maybe someone can help me better understand and imprive.
First of all, it happends that sometime that WML can't login in pop or in smtp.
You have to try more times and you got it.
second points, it is very slow! It takes a lot of time before moving from login to mail, and also when you clink on a new message it take up to 20 seconds also if it is a simple mail with 2 words!
Usign any client (thunderbird portable, eudora, etc) it is verry fast!
Can some one help me about those two isues that may are correlated?

I'm not sure I understand the login problem. Are you saying that you can log in after several attempts and the same credentials which were not accepted before will suddenly work? Is there anything relevant in the log files?
As for the 2nd point, POP3 protocol itself isn't really about good performance. Whenever possible, you should use IMAP access instead. And if the same performance issue persists with IMAP, that has something to do with system configuration unrelated to WebMail directly.

I will try with the IMAP and let you know.
Regarding the login, I create two accounts.
In the first both login without any problem, but when I login wiht the second, after that the first can't login more! (can't connect to pop3). But from the same computer with the second account, everithign works.
I try to recreate the 1st account in hmail (same account name, I deleted old one and create a new identical one). It works again, but the second will login in webmail but can't seen emails, neither sending (both error can't connect to pop3 and can't connect to smtp).
After few attempts without changing anything, both account start to works quite well, but very slowly.
I hope now is more clear. I fear that the pop or somethins is so slow that connection fall in timeout...could it be?
one other question:
in admin pannel on the Default Mail Server Settings, I use external adresses (es. mail.mycompany.com) instead of localhost. hmail and webmail are on the same server. Is it correct what I do?

OK, I see. Try if it works with IMAP, then.
As for hostname, it should work as long as the hostname actually points to the machine where WebMail and hMailServer run. However, a while ago we encountered an issue, and it was related to hMailServer I believe: supplying hostname, like localhost, caused connectivity issues - and if you supply IP address like 127.0.0.1, it should work more reliable.

Ok, usign IMAP it become a bit faster, but using 127.0.01 as adress it takes half time compare to before!
I can't say it is fast but really better than before.
In the mean time I found another issue.
I send an email from 1st account to 2nd.
I just write 2 words inside. Email arrived at the 2nd account but empty!
It is not the first time it happend but I will better investigate becouse it doesn't happen all times.
I will give you more hints if it happen again.
For the moment thanks for your support.
This evening I will create more accounts and check the login issue, I hope it will not happen again!

Due to lack of time I just have few moments to try again the webmail, but I also try the live versione on afterlogi.org web site. It is very faster compared to mine, expecially when you click on an email. I mean in the Live Demo, when you are logged in and click on an email it open immediately. In my webmail it start to load and after 1 minuts or more, the mail is open.
It seems that each time it need to connect to mailserver and open the mail, but on the live demo, it seems to load all the mails from beginngin.
Is it? Can I do something to change this behaviour?

I understand you're using ASP.NET version of WebMail Lite, and it's no longer under active development. Live Demo runs PHP version which was heavily optimized for IMAP use. Thus, we recommend to consider using PHP version instead.
