Hi everybody,
I'm using Webmail Lite on my website and it's great.
Does anybody know if it's possible to use POP3S protocol instead of POP3?
And if it is how can I do that?
I will appreciate any feedback.
Thank you very much.

POP3S (POP3 over SSL) is supported by WebMail. To use it, you need to supply 995 for port number. If there is "Use SSL" checkbox next to "Incoming mail" setting, you'll need to select it too.

Well, thank you for your reply.
Anyway I tried setting my client that way but it doesn't work.
Settings by my provider are:
Server pop3 : pop3s.pec.aruba.it (connection ssl; port 995)
Server smtp: smtps.pec.aruba.it (connection ssl; port 465)
And these are the settings I provided to WebMail Lite
But when I try to connect the response from WebMail is "Can't connect to mail server".
Is it possible that the problem is that I'm using WebMail Lite?
Or could be a problem that the settings both for incoming and outcoming server from provider have a "S" after the protocol (like pop3S or smtpS)?
Anyway thank you for your help. I really appreciate it.

I understand you are using PHP version, is that right? Make sure you have OpenSSL extension active in your PHP configuration. You can check if it's there by making the following simple script and running it in your browser:

Then it's a connectivity issue, perhaps. To check if that's the case, enable logging in AdminPanel, replicate the issue and check what's there in the log file. If the error looks like "Connection refused", that means the port is blocked by firewall or some other protective software.

According to the information you provided, POP3 server name should be pop3s.pec.aruba.it - while on the screenshot it's just pec.aruba.it; try supplying the hostname in full and see if that helps.

If you mean something like this, it's not working. I really start thinking it cannot work, isn't it?

The screenshot reflects port 993 specified, and usually that's IMAP port. So either try supplying port 995, or use IMAP protocol.
