Do you encounter the same issue when using any other web browser?
And by the way, is my understanding correct that mail is fetched by WebMail but was originally created and sent using some other mail client?

IE8 and Chrome have same issue, all of mail that include attachment. Other web browser don't test.
Your understanding correct .
Thanks.

I'd try comparing, byte-to-byte, original attachment and the file you retrieve from WebMail. It could be that some error occurs during fetching the file, and if you have display_errors option enabled in PHP configurations, there's a chance that damaged file contains error output itself.
