Hi,

I installed Afterlogic webmail lite using softaculous app installer, it states it's version 8.5.2-build-a3. When the users hit reply on a message, they can't reply (after clicking on send it says sending and stops)

I tried looking at the logs but there are no errors. If i use roundcube everything works fine.

Please help!

Thanks!

There has to be an error recorded somewhere, either in webserver logs or debug logs of WebMail itself. Without the logs, I don't see how we can help.

Hi,

I was also working with the hosting support and they found the problem:

We have investigated the issue and checked server logs, according to them, the issue was caused by triggered ModSecurity rule. ModSecurity is an Apache module which works as a web application firewall. It blocks known exploits and provides protection from a range of attacks against web applications. Sometimes ModSecurity has conflicts with some scripts and plugins which may result in false-positive blocks, thus it is not possible to predict or avoid it, unfortunately. You can find more information about ModSecurity here: https://www.namecheap.com/support/knowledgebase/article.aspx/9542/22/what-is-modsecurity-and-why-do-we-need-it

We have whitelisted the triggered rule and our reply to 'link webmail' was sent successfully. We are attaching the screenshots of both failed and successful sending for your reference.

Please test the email delivery after the performed change and let us know if it works as expected for you.

In case the issue persists, please do not hesitate to update this ticket. Additionally, we can totally disable ModSecurity protection for your domain/account so you will be able to avoid false-positive triggers from now on, but please note that the website will become more vulnerable and security risks will increase for it in this case.

Thanks!
