Hi,

In the past I have had to install Rainloop as a simple front end for a few GSuite mail accounts, but now I believe it (RL) will no implement OAuth 2.0 in time to comply with Google´s upcoming changes, so I´ve found AfterLogic´s products while searching for a replacement.

I assume you are aware that Google is axing the "Allow less secure apps" in a few months.

So, while I´ve done some searches and read the docs on "How to connect to Gmail" it remains unclear to me if WML8 will allow me to make a manual first authentication against each gsuite-gmail account and how it will behave after that...

Is WML8 able to authenticate against Google and be validated as a OAuth approved application?

Once each gmail account has allowed access to WML8, Will they require a "standard" user+pass login?

My main goal is to have a handful of users accessing their GSuite mail account through a sane interface that I can (ideally) install at our website hosting provider.

Any insights you might share will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Based on posts from Google, we believe that those timeframes previously announced no longer apply:

Turning off less secure app access to G Suite accounts

Update
March 30, 2020: We have suspended the turn-off detailed here until further notice. We'll announce new timelines on the G Suite Updates blog at a later date. For more details, see this post.

Nonetheless, as this is still likely to happen in the near future, we do have adding OAuth support for Google email accounts in the roadmap - we already have Google integration for logging in and for Google Drive access, now we need to use the similar approach for IMAP/SMTP auth. No ETA yet but we hope to have this feature released before end of 2020.

Feel free to follow our Facebook or Twitter feeds to get notified on new releases of our products.

Igor, thank you for such a prompt reply!

Somehow I missed that announcement, thank you.

I´m glad to hear it is on the roadmap.
Actually even if the change is on pause now I am still eager for a remedy, since the "allow less secure apps" turns itself off when an account has little activity (*) and that is driving crazy. I really want to get rid of that GG issue.

(*) I have confirmed that is the expected behavior.

EDIT:

While I´ve got your attention, could you confirm this for me? Which I assume could apply for both GDrive and GMail access?:

"Once each gmail/gdrive account has allowed access to WML8, Will they require (and be protected by) a 'standard' user+pass login?"

Regards.
