version 8.1.4 gave me "The username or password you entered is incorrect." message when trying to logon, but both username and password are OK (verified by dumping packets sent by my desktop IMAP client).

Have hmailserver installed on windows 7 (on same machine), webmail lite 8 unzipped and accessible. I am able to login as an admin, database settings are OK.

Hi,

This message is displayed whenever the server rejects your login data. For instance, if your IP address (the IP address of the web server) is blocked, or you need to connect via SSL (e.g. port 993), etc.

Hmailserver in installed on same machine, port 143 is allowed for unencrypted IMAP connections, but by hamilserver logging console does not display ANY activity "unsuccessfull incomming connection" tries or something else.

As far as windows loopback connections cannot be dumped by wireshark, the webmail scripts does not trying to contact mailserver or tried to contact aby other mailserver. Maybe misconfiguration issue, but I cant find any configuration manual for webmail 8.x

Developers state that, according to the logs, WebMail doesn't actually attempt to connect to the server - most likely, that's caused by misconfiguration in Mail Servers tab of Adminpanel. Can you please provide a screenshot reflecting the domain added there? Also, it's worth rechecking that it's the correct domain specified in Domains list.

And the account you're attempting to log into has @localhost as its domain part, correct?

Now I replace localhost by correct mail domain and it start working, thank you.

Please thing about to add some help text to the Mail server setup page, to explain what the fields and red stars exactly means. Field domains does not have red star so I expect this is not mandatory ane leave it empty. Later by experiments I fill the domain name on which mailserver could be accessed.
