Hi Alex,
How are you doing Alex ? I noticed that I couldn't
able to open email which is more than 1 MB. And the
ATTACHMENT FOLDER on web server is having lot of files, can I delete these files which is in .tmp format ?
In mailadm.asp I set Attachment size = 5MB but still
I couldn't able to open email of size >= 1 MB .
While forwarding email only Text message is forwarded but not the attachment.

Regards.

Thanks, fine ;-).

I'm not sure which kind of large emails are not opened: with large bodytext or with large attachments?

We've found (and fixed) some performance problems related to emails with large bodies. I sent fixed version of view.asp to you by email.

If the problem is related to large attachment, does it appear on webmaildemo?

Are tmp files located in Attachments folder itself or in its subfolders named by users' emails? Anyway, you can safely delete all this files and subfolders. They should be deleted automatically but only if "Full control" permission is set to Attachments folder for IUSR_Servername user. If this permission is not set, the webmail can't delete any folders there.

In WebMail, Forward feature forwards only text body. To resend email completely (including attahments), use Redirect feature.

Best Regards,
Alex

Answer : Attachments

Answer : I'm on vacations and through local dial up line
I tried to attached 1 MB file it took about an
half an hour and by mistake I attached exe
format file and your server didn't
accept ( which is definately good
thing to block exes ) I'll try sometime soon
to send zip file, may be on sunday or monday.

Unfortunately, test account you supplied cannot accept external mail, so I was unable to test large attachments here.

Once you will be at work, could you enable external mail for this account, and provide us with an URL of your WebMail Pro installation?

Rest Regards,
Alex

We have an issue where attachments (.doc) are appearing as winmail.dat - any ideas?

MS Outlook places message contents into winmail.dat when Outlook is set in RTF message mode (i.e. neither HTML nor plain-text message). These winmail.dat files can be opened only with MS Outlook program because they are in MS-TNEF format. This is proprietary, never documented format developed by Microsoft solely for their internal purposes.
