Hi,

I'm new at mailbee.Net and trying your IMAP demo 1...

Socket connection has timed out. InnerException message follows: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond

Why do i get this error & can I test my IMAP connection...

Telnet servername port works fine...

Ronald.

If you're sure that telnet server name and IMAP port=143 are correct, this may indicate firewall issue. telnet is often excluded from firewall restrictions, so do Outlook and some other well-known programs.

okay,

telnet works for port=135 and port = 443 not 143.

Is 143 required?

- It turns out our server is configured to port 135.
- Firewall is open for this port and protocol.
- telnet is working fine;

BUT...

Still no connection possible. Any Idees for me?

Have you told MailBee to explicitly use port 135 for IMAP? That's done in Imap.Connect method call.

You might want to enable logging and see the detailed conversation between MailBee and mail server. If you'd like us to assist you with that issue, you can submit the logs via HelpDesk.
