Having tried the live demo of the Web Mail Pro on your website, we have been considering your product for a while now. However, we have been holding back to see the upcoming AJAX version. Is there a tentative release date. For Microsoft ASP or .NET (or LINUX PHP version).

WebMail Pro 4.0 is still in development. Although no exact release date assigned yet, we expect it'll be completed in a couple of months.
Best regards,
Andrew

Thanks for the reply..
1. Any ideas how much Web Mail Pro version 4 will cost.
2. Will you be offering a free or reduced price upgrade to version 4 from the current one.
3. Will there be a classic ASP version of the version 4 or just .NET. How about PHP?
Thanks for your help...

This is not determined yet. Perhaps, it will be a bit more expensive but it should not exceed $300 for basic license.

Yes, but the discounted amount will depend. Most likely, WebMail Pro 3 ASP Edition users will get 50% discount for purchasing WebMail Pro 4 ASP.NET Edition.

WebMail Pro 4 is being developed for ASP, ASP.NET, and PHP (just like WebMail Lite 4 which we already offer).
However, ASP and PHP version will be released later than ASP.NET version (after a month or two).

Alex

Any update on the ASP.NET version release date? Is there a beta program for this?

The release date is still not assigned. We expect online demo of beta version will become available in a month or so.

Andrew

It's still "when it's done". Seems the development will take significantly longer than we expected earlier due to a number of different factors. AJAX beta (at least for ASP.NET/PHP editions) will probably become available in June.

Alex

We have been already using WebMail Pro (ASP). We are eager to participate in beta testing your asp.net webmail pro.

We found some serious bugs at the last moment and this delayed launch of the beta. But I can say it's on the way. We'll inform you when it gets available.
To the moment, you can play with its online demo (use Advanced Login option to check your mailbox). It's not polished yet and some features are not always working correctly but it gives the idea how the product will look and feel.
Regards,
Alex

Alex,
The front end really looks impressive. I could not check all the features as I found it a bit slow but I am sure your final version would be fast.
Also we want to customize the WebMail same further for our internal use. I am sure all the code and documentation will be made available to us.

What exactly is slow? E.g., user interface, speed of downloading mail, etc?

The user interface was slow. It took lot of time to load the login as well as main page once logged in.
may be there are lot of images. I am using a 256 Kbps connection and my machine is core2duo 1.86 GHz with 2 GB RAM & 400 GB SATA harddisk.

On the first login, it's required to download a lot of scripts onto your computer. Subsequent logins should go faster.
Or do you mean it keeps being slow even after you logged in and checked mail?

Alex

Yeah! It seems working faster next time onwards. The mail compose box seem wider than normal. When do you expect the final version to be released?

The production version will be released in a couple of weeks. However, this is just an estimation, and it all depends on the results of beta testing which will start later today (we'll send you the link shortly).

Alex

Oh, I found you requested ASP.NET version, not PHP one. ASP.NET version is several days behind PHP. I think we'll send ASP.NET beta out next week.

Alex
