Hi, I found a strange problem with excel attachment and webmail lite 7. Not sure if it related to webmail.
I have an IMAP server where webmail is connected to.
Outlook is connected to the same Mailbox.
If an mail with an excel attachment (.xlsx) is received, I can open the attachment from Outlook directly. If I try open it from webmail, excel reports the following:
"Excel cannot open the file 'filename.xlsx' because the file format for the file extension is not valid. Verify that the file has not been corrupted and that the file extension matches the format of the file."
It makes no difference if I save it first to disk or open directly. If I forward this mail in webmail to another mailbox, I can open the file with Outlook normally. So it must be healthy on the mailserver.
It looks like webmail is modifying the file during download somehow.
I found that after downloading the file with webmail, it is 2 bytes bigger.
The 2 additional bytes are inserted at the beginning of the file and have the values "0D 0A" (CR and LF)
If I remove these 2 bytes with Hexeditor, I can open the excel file normally.
I have tested this with webmail 7 and latest version 8 as well as with IE and Chrome browser.
Does anyone have an clue where this is coming from?

Hello,
I've tried to reproduce the issue on the final version 7.7.9 of WebMail Lite 7, as well as on current version 8, and it works just fine, the files downloaded do not differ in size from the original one.
Is my understanding correct that you encounter the same problem with v8? If you try the Live Demo of WebMail Lite 8, do you get the same behavior there?

Hi,
I have tested it with version 7.7.9 and 8.2.3-build-a3 downloaded a few hours ago. Web Server is 2012 R2 and IIS.
I just send an test to your live demo and I could download and open the excel fine without problems.
Anything else I can try?

We've just tested this on IIS, the issue isn't reproduced there either.
We wonder if it's possible to provide us with a test account and an installation URL the issue can be reproduced on. If yes, please send the credentials via HelpDesk. Thanks.
