Can this be disabled? I simply do not want every one off email I send to go into my contacts.

Try commenting out the following line in common/class_processorswitch.php (line ~2206):

Please note that this would affect address autocompletion feature as well.

This works great...I completely omitted the line as opposed to commenting it out.
My address autocompletion is still active which is the best of both worlds.

Im glad we can comment this out, but this should be a feature that can be enabled/disabled by each user.

Maybe you could a third setting to make it work like Group Office: when there is a new address, it asks if it should be added to the contacts list. It then shows a pop-up with the contact info.
And I agree with MACscr: the user should be able to enable/disable this.
