After installation of everything seems to work fine, I am able to check emails, change layouts etc Unfortunately I am unable to send emails. When trying to send an email I receive: "An error occurred during sending the message."
Any ideas what could have gone wrong?

Debugging starts with logging. Enable logging in Admin Panel and examine the logs to find the cause of the problem.

Dear Alex,
Thank you for the prompt reply. I finally got everything to work including sending emails. I achieved this by cleaning FTP account and MYSQL database completely and then performing a clean installation. Right after installation I tested SMTP connection. When I used 127.0.0.1 I got "SMTP connection to port 25 failed: Connection refused (Error code: 111)". So I changed 127.0.0.1 to the SMTP server address which I got from the hosting company and this time the result of the test was "SMTP connection to port 25 successful". After that in the admin panel I changed the servers to the ones provided by the hosting company (for some reason after installation they were displayed as "127.0.0.1" even though during installation I changed this) and sending emails works well for me now.
