Hi all,
Im trying to reinstall webmail lite after it stopped working.
I removed the original directory.
Stopped IIS
Removed all the virtual directories from sites using webmail
Copied over the new webmail folder
created a new virtual directory in a website
Checked that all sites were set to use .net 2
Started IIS again
When I browse to mysite/webmail.install.htm and click the instal link I get this error;
The namespace '<global namespace>' already contains a definition for 'AdminPanelMainPlugin'
Any ideas..? I am presumming that there is some sort of cache or compiled files knocking about which are still there, I dont understand the .net system very well.
Thanks

PS if I rerun the page the error changes to;
The namespace '<global namespace>' already contains a definition for 'XMUser'
but then remains at that error...?????

Try creating and using separate application pool for this new installation.

Ive created a new application pool and told the virtual directory to run in that pool. Now I get this error;
The namespace '<global namespace>' already contains a definition for 'SelectedValueStruct'

Sorry about the double post..cant find a way to edit posts either.
The actual method it displays as already existing changes as you refresh the page but usually settles on the AdminPanel on eventually.
Cheers

Not sure if I understand the last one correctly. Are you saying that there's a
different error message after every page reload, or...?

You can try recompiling the product using compile.bat file found in root folder of WebMail.

Hi Igor,
Tried recompiling it this is the error afterwards;
CS0101: The namespace '<global namespace>' already contains a definition for 'SelectedValueStruct'
Its basically always the same type of error, the global namespace already contains a definition for xxxxxxxx, but xxxxx changes, sometimes each time I refresh, sometimes not and it generally always ends up as AdminPanelConstants.
Its very weird...system restart prehaps.

I believe you said you had to reinstall webmail since it refused to work. But maybe the problem is not in webmail
itself but in ASP.NET / IIS environment. Is it possible to provide us with Remote Desktop access to the system so we
could check the issue.
We don't normally do this, especially for community editions of our products, but the issue seems to be quite
challenging. If you'd like us to help you with this, please send the access details via our
HelpDesk, please include a link to this forum thread.

The issue was fixed. It appears that new installation was made on top of existing
files and folders without removing those explicitly. At the moment, things should
be good.
