Hi,
When users change their webmail settings, they can change the (technical) configuration such as incoming and outgoing server, pots, etc.
Is it possible to hide this? It's always "localhost" and I don't want users to be able to change that and potentially break their webmail or use it to read mail from private servers.

You can untick "Allow users to access accounts settings" in default domain options, that should do the trick.

The sounds like the thing I want to do... But where do I find it?
Remember, I am using the Lite version. (Btw, where do I find the version number?)

Scanning trough the documentation, I think this is only possible in the Pro version.

While the Pro version allows manipulating settings for domains individually, default domain settings are available for Lite as well. Navigate to Domains tab and select "Default domain settings", you should be able to find the option there.
Version number can be found as shown here. Even though that article is for WebMail Pro, it works for Lite exactly the same way. We're currently in process of linking a number of articles to Lite docs, and that one is among them.
Keep in mind that WebMail Lite does not come with guaranteed support from AfterLogic. For those who require commercial-level support, Pro edition is available.

Your help is greatly appreciated. But I still can't find the settings that you are referring to. There are no settings in the Domain tab. I can only create Domains there.
(I know now that I use version 5.1.3 - .NET version)

Erm, no. Unless stated otherwise, I assume the question is about latest PHP version. No idea really how it's in ASP.NET version, it wasn't updated for years - another reason to use PHP version instead.

Based on screenshot though, there's a chance such settings are found in settings of the specific domain. Also, tweaking settings.xml file might be an option.

I never realized until now that there was such a big version difference between the .NET edition and the PHP edition.
The most important reason I'm trying Afterlogic is because it has a .NET Webmail client and practically nobody else has that. If I could use PHP, my list of webclients to try would be a LOT longer (and to be honest, I'm not sure if Afterlogic would be at the top position)
Thanks for your help though.

Tried it. The setting is there, but unfortunately changing it does not affect the behaviour.
So 2 options... Fix it myself... Or install PHP on IIS... :)

I'd suggest to check if it affects the accounts added after changing the settings.

Hello there
it seems I have similar problem.
After unchecking the 'Allow users to access accounts settings' option in the admin panel, both existing users and brand new users can access and modify their server settings in email account settings parameters tab. This includes IMAP server host and port, login, password, SMTP server, SMTP authentication, ...
Is there something to update in the DB ?
I run 7.0.2 lite version.
Cheers.
Laurent.

That's a known issue, will be fixed in the next release.
