For those of you who tried to install WebMail Pro or WebMail Lite under cPanel. Have you succeeded in this and was it useful for you?

Make sure you have extracted all files and folders from the downloaded package of WebMail Pro. This really looks like webmail/command_creators/webmail_command_creator.php file was not unpacked. Note that when we refer to 'webmail' folder, we mean subfolder of main WebMail Pro folder.

Shouldn't matter in this case, the path exists in WebMail Lite as well.

You can access Webmail without going through cPanel by using one of the following addresses: ... If you set up a forwarder from cPanel for an existing mailbox, it leaves a copy of the email on the server. This can use up the allocated quote for the account and may require logging in to webmail to manually delete the emails.

Working on my Webmail Pro WHM/cPanel installation with direct embedding now.

The instructions say to install at /usr/local/cpanel/base/wm/ but this directory is not viewable over http, so I can't view the install.htm page on my browser to use the installation package.

Do I need to do a manual installation? Are there any instructions posted anywhere?

 Thanks

If the package was placed correctly, the installer should be available via the URL of the following kind:

 http://server.addr:2095/wm/adminpanel/install.php

where "server.addr" stands for hostname or IP address your cPanel server is available at.

 Failed to connect.
#1045: Access denied for user 'admin'@'cx118.justhost.com' (using password: YES)

i think the installer changes my pasword or something because it's never the same length as the password i use. Or could it be ODBC ?? which i don't believe isn't installed on the server (shared hosting can't afford a dedicated server . . . yet)

any help would be greatly appreciated :)

DiGiT, what I don't see is how exactly this is connected with cPanel. Please elaborate.

Suit yourself. I don't see how anyone could help you with that though. The only suggestion I have at the moment
           | Posted: 25 January 2011 at 6:19am | IP Logged | |
           |
 | is to recheck that you actually supply correct credentials. Usually, if you are using cPanel-based hosting, that
would not be just databaseName, but accountName_databaseName. Same goes for MySQL username as well.

In addition, it seems that the issue is with permissions throught mySQL.

 Link below might help; although I have not tried it myself yet;
