Hi there everyone!

I wanted to log into my administration panel and when I enter my credentials and submit, the pages loads for a few seconds and then it pops up an error at the top:

Quote:
Error: system not configured.

With no other explanation. What do I need to do to resolve this?

Thanks for your time!

Most probably, that's caused by insufficient write permissions somewhere in the data directory, I'd suggest to change either owner or permission recursively over data/ and see if that helps.

Hi there Igor,

there's a bunch of content in data. It's all currently set to 755 for folders and 644 for files. Should everything be changed or just certain files and folders? What should the permissions be changed to?

As long as permissions are sufficient for webserver to write in there, it all should be good. Can't say which permissions should be set for your particular system, but 755 for folders and 644 for files sounds good.

By the way, are you able to login as superadmin, despite the error message shown?

Both my mail user and admin can log into the system. The error shows any time I log in or out, however.

I tried to enable debug logging but when I hit save, I get

Quote:
Saving settings has failed.

So does that mean I have an issue with the data directory for sure?

I recursively set to 777 which got rid of the error. Not a great solution but it's working now.
