Installed from this file: https://afterlogic.com/download/webmail-pro

Able to log into admin with superadmin/empty password, but not able to save anything in admin. The button changed from save to saving... but nothing happens. Tried chrome/safari, same thing.

The first thing to recheck is that data/ directory of the installation is writable by web server. If you open the installation with ?install key appended to the URL, you'll get a compatibility test with several checks there, including data/ directory access permissions.

Thanks, yes, the ?install shows everything is OK, all green.

I forgot to mention I keep getting this popup:

Cookies need to be updated. To continue, please click here or reload this page.

I clicked "here" link, but it keep popping out, always there.

data folder is set to the owner of apache, first I set to 755 for data and its sub folders/files, then I tried 777, still the same.

The thing is, I opened the chrome debug window, I don't see any network connections after I click the save button. Seems to me a js problem.

This is the ?install output:

The current server environment meets all the requirements. Click Next to proceed.

also the php package downloaded from your server (not from github) has this warning in chrome console:

app.min.js?8333:1 Warning: a promise was created in a handler at /static/js/app.min.js?8333:1:185622 but was not returned from it, see http://goo.gl/rRqMUw

I can confirm data folder permission is not an issue.

Before I call admin page, I only have settings folder in data folder, after I visited admin page, I have the following files/folders in data folder:

cache logs salt8.php     settings

Aha, that explains it. Please try creating .htaccess file in root directory of WebMail, with the following content:

Code:
RewriteEngine on
RewriteRule .* - [E=HTTP_AUTHORIZATION:%{HTTP:Authorization},L]

We've recently made a few improvement to CSRF protection, and we're going to release a new update later today. In some webserver configurations, authentication headers aren't sent through by default, that's what .htaccess is expected to correct.
