Hi, I am looking to buy the webmail pro product. But I see there are two versions.

I am a developer so I understand the difference in the tech stack. But from a product perspective the .NET version is $100 more.

What makes them different?

Long story short, WebMail Pro ASP.NET is a legacy product which is no longer under active development. Partly, its pricing is explained by the product including MailBee.NET Objects which is a commercial set of software components by itself. We mostly keep ASP.NET version available for those willing to including the product as a part of their software product (shopping cart software, for example) which is why developer license is available for this version.

As for WebMail Pro PHP, it is currently one of our flagship products, it is under very active development so we strive keeping its pricing competitive.

I would also point out that while ASP.NET version requires Windows and IIS, PHP version is platform-independent and can run on a variety of systems and web servers, including Windows and IIS as well of course.

Hope this helps.

The primary difference between the .NET and PHP versions of WebMail Pro lies in the underlying technology and potential compatibility with your server environment. While .NET version is a proprietary framework developed by Microsoft and requires a Windows server environment + IIS to run; PHP version is based on PHP, offers more flexibilityu in terms of server environments.

The price difference of $100 likely reflects the additional development and licensing costs associated with the .NET framework and Microsoft technologies
